Your comparison to a pyramid scheme is bang on. I have come across quite a few creators that seem to have entire libraries of “make x dollars a month writing on medium” articles. They must be profitable and admittedly some of them are great advice. But there are quite few that are click bait titles with recycled “write more, and get published in the ascent" advice.
